July 10, 2006 | bpfna

BPFNA's 21st annual peace camp kicked off Monday in Atlanta. A gathering of around 300 heard a series of inspired and inspiring messages Monday evening. Dr. C. T. Vivian brought the keynote address, based on the conference theme, "Becoming the Beloved Community". Rabbi Michael Lerner (see Tikkun.org), George Williamson and others spoke, and US Rep. Barbara Lee received BPFNA's first "Lifetime in Peacemaking" award, given in memory of long-time BPFNA member Bill Moore. More details on Monday's session will be available later Tuesday. Meanwhile, check out the audio available from Mercury Public Media (www.mercurypublicmedia.org), and remember that audio CDs of many of the week's sessions will be available from MPM.
