As many as 20,000 Baptists from across North America are expected to gather at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta January 30-February 1, 2008, in an unprecedented demonstration of Baptist unity. The history-making event will culminate months of planning by leaders of more than 30 Baptist organizations who laid the groundwork for a new era of cooperation during a series of meetings at The Carter Center in 2006 and early 2007.

A press conference led by President Jimmy Carter will launch the 2008 Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant. The press conference will begin at 5:15 pm EST on Wednesday, January 30, and will be streamed live over the internet, and can be found on the event homepage at that time. The news conference video will also be available later for on-demand viewing.

The group's homepage will also offer news updates, press releases and video feeds from the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant meeting.

Portions of the week's events will be videotaped and available as on-demand video on their web site. Most of the keynote messages and sermons from the five plenary sessions will be available online shortly after the conclusion of each session. Visit the event homepage for free access to these videos.

BPFNA is exhibiting at the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant. Evelyn Hanneman, Operations Coordinator, and Bob Spinks, Networking & Development Coordinator, will represent BPFNA in the exhibit hall throughout the event.
