August 9 marked the 65th anniversary of the nuclear bombing of Nagasaki by US forces. Click here

August 5 marked the 47th anniversary of the Limited Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. The US was joined by the Soviet Union and Great Britain in signing the treaty that banned nuclear testing in the atmosphere, underwater, and in space, while still allowing underground nuclear weapons testing to continue.
As we remember the victims of Nagasaki and Hiroshima, the New START treaty is before the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and a vote is scheduled for September 15 or 16. BPFNA urges its members and friends in the US to be heard on this issue. Visit www.nuclearweaponsfree.org
