Registration open for the 2019 Global Baptist Peace Conference

Registration is now open for the 6th Global Baptist Peace Conference that will take place in Cali, Colombia from 15-20 July on the campus of the Baptist University of Cali (Unibautista).

Opening registration coincides with the launch of the new conference website where visitors can find a range of information on conference logistics and programming, visa and travel requirements, and planning a Colombian vacation, amongst other details.

Visit www.globalbaptistpeace2019.org or www.bautistaglobalporlapaz2019.org for more information and to register.

The conference theme, Peace in Our Land: Toward a World without Violence, will provide an overarching guide for a week filled with thought-provoking workshops and activities; inspiring leaders who are all devoted to the work of peacemaking; and challenging, age appropriate programming on a variety of ways to practice peace.

With Colombia as the location, the week will especially recognize the extraordinary accomplishment of the Colombian Peace Accord, and attendees will be able to learn from the successes and setbacks of this peace process.

“We look forward to sharing and gathering with peacemakers from all around the world as we look for ways to grow, support, and encourage each other,” said Ximena Ulloa Montemayor, co-manager for the 2019 conference. “The door is open to all. If you are passionate about nonviolence, social justice and strengthening the global witness for peace, we hope to see you in Cali!”

The 2019 Conference follows the memorable 2009 Rome conference, which sparked a considerable amount of grassroots peace work, strengthened ecumenical and interfaith peacebuilding on a global level, and led to the creation of several regional peace networks. We can’t wait to see what Cali will bring!
