Richard D. Sutton, 1939-2006

January 20, 2006 | The Rev. Dr. Richard D. (Dick) Sutton, retired pastor and home missionary with American Baptist Churches USA, died January 11 from cancer while in the care of his family at home in Norristown, PA. With his wife, Carol, Dick was a long-time member of BPFNA. Read more »

Foy Valentine, 1923-2006

January 10, 2006 | Foy Valentine, a pioneer in Christian ethics and civil rights, died suddenly January 7 at age 82. Valentine headed the Christian Life Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1960-1987, and has been described as "the most significant civil rights leader among Southern Baptists during the 1960s, \'70s and \'80s."
