Spanish Resource Manager
Hortensia joined the BPFNA staff in 2015. In her role as Spanish resource manager, shewill help us share resources, news, and support between our English-speaking and Spanish-speaking partners.
A native of Mexico, Hortensia holds a B.S. in Computer Sciences from Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Tamaulipas (IEST) in Tampico, Tamaulipas, Mexico. She has worked as a Spanish and technical editor for a variety of organizations throughout the years and currently works as a freelance language translator and writer. In addition to this, she has worked as an administrative assistant and a data analyst.
Hortensia has also volunteered at her church in different capacities throughout the years. Many of those volunteer positions have involved collaborating in a variety of communication projects, both written and graphic. These experiences have been very valuable to her because they have allowed her to further exercise and develop her communication abilities in conjunction with a ministerial vision.
Raised in a Mexican Christian family with strong Baptist roots, Hortensia seeks out opportunities that allow her to use her gifts and skills for the service of God’s people and mission.
"I consider this position with the BPFNA to be a wonderful opportunity to live up to this commitment," she said. "The mission of the BPFNA deeply resonates with my Christian understanding of who God is and calls us to be: peacemakers, who work incessantly to bring God’s justice and peace to all of God’s children."
