The Freedom Center for Social Justice (FCSJ) is a NC based non-profit organization that does its primary work at the intersections of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, social justice and faith. We are committed to the growth, safety and empowerment of the LGBTQ community. Our mission is accomplished through education, programs, partnerships and advocacy. We serve with care, compassion and celebration.
You will serve as the primary organizer for our faith-based programming. This position will engage clergy and laity directly, both one-on-one and in group settings. Must be able to identify needs and provide targeted support for highest impact in the area of culture shifts between the LGBTQ community, communities of color and communities of faith. You will coordinate training and organizing efforts that will help increase the number of safe spaces, protections and access for LGBTQ people in North Carolina.
The coordinator will manage faith-based initiatives and the Do No Harm Campaign. This position will also serve in an advisory capacity to the Executive Director in related program and policy formulation activities.
Volunteer recruitment, management and retention will also be required.
