Position Overview

  • The goal of this position is to engage more people in key areas of NC into taking action to prevent gun violence.
  • This will be done through organizing gun violence prevention presentations, following up with people attending presentations, connecting with people already in the NCGV database, organizing with local faith leaders and faith bodies.
  • The organizer will work with both the NCGV Action Fund and the NCGV Education Fund.
  • The salary is $17,200 for 20 hours a week for 40 weeks ($21.50/HR). This position may be extended if more money is raised for this project.

North Carolinians Against Gun Violence Education Fund’s mission is to make North Carolina safe from gun violence through the education of the public about preventing gun violence, enacting needs new laws and enforcing current laws. NCGV Education Fund is a 501c3 organization and was founded in 1993.

Recently we have been able to stop campus carry and the dismantling of our pistol purchase permitting system and concealed carry weapons permitting system. We are looking for a part time Community Organizer to help us further engage people on issues of gun violence prevention in North Carolina.

Initial screening for this position will begin on January 7, 2019. The position will be open until filled.
