In January in cooperation with Local Matters, a student group on the Ohio State campus, we showed a documentary about the plight of farm workers in the Immokalee area of Florida. One of the things we learned is that Dublin(Ohio)-based Wendy’s is the only major fast- food corporation that has not joined the Fair Food Program designed to end poverty wages and exploitation of tomato pickers.
One Sunday after church, members wrote letters to Wendy’s corporate headquarters stating our unhappiness with their stand. We sent them to the CEO Emil Brolick, One Dave Thomas Boulevard, Dublin, Ohio 43017. Letters can also be sent to the vice chairman Peter W. May, to chair- man of the board Nelson Peltz, or to members of the board of directors: Janet Hill, J. Randolph Lewis, David E. Schwab, II, Edward P. Garden, Joseph A. Levato, Peter H. Rothschild, and Jack G. Wasserman. The following is a letter with information about the campaign. The more letters they receive the more likely Wendy’s is to change their unconscionable stand. Please, write a letter.
