Earlier this year, the Baptist Peacemakers of Rhode Island (BPRI) participated in a vigil for victims of gun violence. We are affiliated with the sponsors of the vigil, the Religious Coalition for a Violence-Free Rhode Island. Our vice-president, Karen Trudel, participated and it was led by the Rev. Eugene Dyszlewski who is interim pastor of an American Baptist Church in Lincoln, RI.
One of the highlights of the vigil was the blessing of the R. I. Memorial Quilt, a part of the Mothers' Dream Quilt Project of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America.
