The Job Developer assists clients in employment-related matters. S/he provides a range of services that can include skills assessment, resume building, job development, interview coaching, networking with area employers, transportation to interviews, employment orientation, liaison with interpreters, assistance with skills re-certification, employment follow up, retention, laddering, assistance in obtaining social security card and other IDs, cultural orientation, addressing employment barriers such as lack of transportation and childcare, ESL and more. Parameters of service provision are spelled out in detail by our funders. Documentation demands are rigorous.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree and two years experience in job development or related employment activities.
Experience: Cross-cultural
Specific skills/abilities: 1) Good public relations and interpersonal skills. 2) Proficient reading, writing and speaking skills in the English language. 3) Computer literate. 4) Awareness and sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics is required.
Specialized knowledge, licenses, etc.: Valid NC or SC driver's license
