Summer Conference Starts Monday!

July 3, 2010 | "Light to Live In", BPFNA\'s 25th annual Summer Conference, will be held July 12-17 on the campus of Keuka College in New York state. Tony & Peggy Campolo, Harry Knox, Maung Maung Yin, Duane Binkley, Pat Dutcher-Walls, Rachel McGuire and Michael Ware will lead times of worship, dialog and learning. BPFNA Co-Sponsors "Peaceful Alternative" to National Rifle Association Convention

May 20, 2010 | The Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America co-sponsored a "peaceful alternative" to a National Rifle Association national convention that attracted an estimated 70,000 visitors to Charlotte, NC, May 14-16. Along with North Carolinians Against Gun Violence, the Charlotte-based BPFNA sponsored a forum titled "Valuing Our Communities: Working Together to End Gun Violence" May 15 across the street from the convention at St. Peter\'s Catholic Church. Baptists Lead Peaceful Forum Against Gun Violence

May 14, 2010 | Just across the street from the National Rifle Associationís national convention, the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America partners with North Carolinians Against Gun Violence to lead a peaceful forum, ìValuing Our Communities: Working Together to End Gun Violence.î Local residents will discuss contributing factors to violence and formulate plans to build peaceful communities. BPFNA Co-Sponsors 'Truth Commission on Conscience in War'

April 21, 2010 | Truth commissions have been used to report on human rights abuses and systemic injustices and to foster justice and healing for a whole society. Meeting at New York City\'s Riverside Church, this Truth Commission sought to bring to light the issues facing soldiers who find themselves in opposition to a specific war instead of "war in any form" as required in current regulations. Founding director Ken Sehested represented BPFNA and wrote this op-ed piece for the online version of the Washington Post. Read more »

Cecil Sherman Passes Away After Massive Heart Attack

April 18, 2010 | Cecil Sherman, longtime leader of free and faithful Baptists and one of the central figures to help give birth to the renewal movement known as Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF), died from complications of a heart attack April 17 in Virginia. Read more »

April 5, 2010 | BPFNA members and friends are invited to participate in this campaign, designed to draw attention to the plight of Nicaraguans suffering from the effects of Nemagon, a powerful pesticide used for many years in banana farming.
