    Jeremy Rutledge, senior minister

Jeremy Rutledge previously served as pastor of a BPFNA Partner Congregation in Texas. He now serves as senior minister of Circular Congregational Church in Charleston, SC. He shares here a reflection on the work of the Charleston Area Justice Ministry (CAJM). CAJM is made up of 20+ congregations -- interfaith and multiracial -- pushing for policy changes to create a more just city.  They've been working on policies that lower juvenile incarceration, increase early childhood reading slots, and award a percentage of city contract work to entry level local unemployed persons, among other things. This reflection was shared as the Sunday teaching (sermon) at Circular Congregational just five days after a CAJM assembly with 1700 people pressing public officials for policy changes.

  • Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) Mother's Day Toolkit
As we watch the protests in Baltimore, we are reminded of that so many Black mothers mourn the deaths of their children to police brutality. As white people showing up for racial justice, this toolkit will help you plan your action for Mother's Day and engage white children to learn about the issues concerning fairness and equality.
