The Board of Directors of the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America announces that Gary Percesepe, Coordinating Director for the past two years, left August 1 to become Dean of the McMaster School for Advancing Humanity at Defiance College
in Defiance, Ohio. We wish Gary the best in his new position.
The BPFNA family said goodbye to Gary at Summer Conference, thanking him for the work he has doen during this important time of transition for the BPFNA. He was responsible for inviting many of the impressive preachers, teachers and workshop leaders who added their talents to this year's conference. Gary also helped bring several new Partner Congregations into the organization, some of which had representatives at Summer Conference. We're looking forward the their participation as we move together into the future.
We are pleased to announce that Evelyn Hanneman
has been named as Interim Coordinating Director. Evelyn has been with the BPFNA for more than seven years, most recently as Operations Director, and brings a wealth of knowledge and insight to the position. She already knows many of you and is familiar with our Partner Congregations. She understands our programs and our Pathways to Peacemaking
vision as well as the administrative side of how the organization functions.
In addition, the board announces new roles for two other staff members.LeDayne McLeese Polaski
has been with BPFNA for eight years, most recently as Summer Conference Coordinator. She will move into overseeing other BPFNA programs as our new Program Coordinator. We are pleased she is able to take on this expanded role, having more time as her daughter enters kindergarten in the fall. LeDayne brings organizational skills along with great insight to her work for the BPFNA.Johnny Almond
, Administrative Assisant/Webmaster for the past two and a half years, will be Communications Coordinator. This new position will include oversight of all the BPFNA communications as well as public relations work. Johnny's expertise in communications, both technically and verbally, makes him uniquely qualified for this work as we become more connected in this electronic age.
With Evelyn as Coordinating Director, LeDayne and Johnny in their new roles, and Paul Gubert as Office Assistant, we will be able to continue our work without interruption. We are grateful for their commitment to the BPFNA and our work for peace with justice. We're also counting on the BPFNA membership for participation in these exciting new directions and for leadership as we continue to learn from each other how to be peacemakers in a troubled world.
