BPFNA Adopts Statement Regarding Crisis in Gaza Strip

March 17, 2008 | bpfna

Fighting between Israel and Palestine continues, despite efforts to continue a dialogue to move peace efforts forward. The BPFNA Board of Directors has adopted a Statement of Concern regarding the ongoing crisis.

Statement in Regard to the Crisis in Gaza

The Board of Directors of the Baptist Peace Fellowship of North America is concerned about the ongoing crisis in the Gaza Strip. We condemn actions which injure and kill innocent civilians, regardless of the perpetrator of such acts. We also condemn the disproportionate use of force in this conflict.

We call on all parties to work to achieve a ceasefire at the earliest possible moment and to resume negotiations for a peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict.

We call on our own members and congregations to pray, educate and take action to support a just and peaceful solution to this conflict.

A Prayer for the Bombed Out, Burned Out, Driven Out
Lord God, we pray for all the bombed out, burned out, driven out, relocated, wondering , wandering, unwilling pilgrims in this world.  Forgive us for our part in uprooting them.  Restore their lives, make us partners with in the rebuilding of their lives.  We pray in the name of the Son of Man, who had no place to lay His head.
