Daniel Ortiz Carrasquillo
Board of Directors
My name is Daniel Ortiz Carrasquillo. I am 25 years old and from Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico. I have a BA in Social Work with a minor in School Social Work from the Universidad Interamericana, Recinto Metropolitano, earned in February 2022.
In February 2019, at just eighteen years old, I began the Preministerial Process of the Puerto Rico Baptist Churches in response to God’s call to my life to serve in ministry. That same year, I obtained a Chaplain Certification. To further affirm my calling, I completed a Certification in Youth Ministry from El Seminario Evangélico de Puerto Rico in September 2023.
As a Licensed Social Worker in Puerto Rico (LBSW), I have worked as a School Social Worker from PreK to 12th grade and as a Reunification Specialist, positively impacting the lives of unaccompanied minors entering the United States without proper documentation. As a Reunification Specialist, I was tasked with the responsibility of vetting the potential sponsors of unaccompanied minors. I currently work as a Medical Social Worker in a hospital in Puerto Rico.
I have been a member of the Primera Iglesia Bautista de Aguas Buenas my entire life. From July 2012 to July 2017, while living in the state of Florida, I was a member of The Atlantic Baptist Church located in Margate, Florida. I have served on the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Baptist Churches as well as on the board of my local church. I have also held various leadership positions in the Unión de Jóvenes Bautistas de Puerto Rico. I am passionate about social justice, sharing the gospel, and helping others.
