Waldemar Murguido

Waldemar Murguido Sánchez Quirós was born November 8, 1984, in the city of Matanzas, Cuba. He met Jesus Christ at 19 years old in 2004, in a moment where God called him to serve. He studied at the Antonio Guiteras Holmes Polytechnic Institute in Matanzas, Cuba, graduating in Accounting in the year 2003. In the year

2005 he enrolled in the University of Matanzas, where he graduated in economy in the year 2013. In that same year he enrolled in the Evangelical Seminary of Theology of Matanzas, towards the end of responding to the call that God offered him to serve to a community. Currently he is studying for a master’s in theology at Palmer Seminary in the U.S.

In the year 2004 he met Jesus in the Fraternidad Baptist Church of the orange grove in Matanzas, where Pastor Antonio Santana accompanied him from the beginnings of his pastoral work. In 2006 he was baptized. As a member of this community, he has served as youth leader and communications pastor. In the year 2013 when he entered seminary, he had to say goodbye to the community to begin the process of pastoral practices. Then he served at the First Baptist Church of Matanzas, and later at ¨Juan F Naranjo¨ Baptist Church of Olive, Union of Reyes. He has pastored this church for 10 years.

From 2016–2020, he had the opportunity to serve in the pastorate of communications of the Fraternity of Baptist Churches of Cuba (FIBAC). From 2020–2024, he served as FIBAC’s secretary of finances. Since 2024 to the present he is vice-president of FIBAC.

Since 2017 he has been treasurer and director of administration and finances at the Evangelical Seminary of Theology in Matanzas.
